:: S-Pod Specifications for the Honda S2000 ::
Mounting plate holes are cut to accept either a 5.25
inch; (13cm) coaxial, or 5.25 inch; (13cm) midrange
and separate tweeter. Components are highly
recommended over coaxials if your budget will allow.
Components offer much more clarity. The holes are
cut to 4.75 inches; (12cm)
Component tweeters are mounted with double stick
tape through the mounting plate to the plastic roll bar
cover. Holes for them are drilled to 2 inches; (5cm).
Coaxial tweeter protrusion is an issue. 1/8 inch;
(3cm) past the mounting surface will clear the
speaker grill. 1/4 inch; (5mm) will touch the grilles
foam backing if mounted from the front. 1/4 inch; or
more can be accommodated by mounting the
speaker behind the mounting plate. This works fine
but takes a lot of patience to start the mounting
screws blind. Spacers may need to be inserted
between the speakers and mounting plates to gain
clearance.
If you are planning to use speakers with dedicated
mounting plates, you will need to make
modifications. Mounting depth is not an issue with
either coaxials or components, 3.25 inches; (8.3cm)
is available.

as current stock is

the high cost of colored
leather.
At that time, we will be
happy to cover S-Pods
